What to take on the Colorado Trail

Next week I'm taking off for a wonderful 5 weeks of hiking the Colorado Trail. This is my second time on this trail, and here's a little sneak peek of what's in my pack  (spoiler alert: there is a LightHeart Gear tent :-)). Currently, my total pack weighs just 20lb. Let's go!

Top Row (from right to left):

  • Granite Gear Blaze 60 pack - modified, (I took off the line locks and cord and replaced them with webbing and side release buckles) and with compactor bag liner -  3 lb 6 oz
  • LightHeart Gear SoLong 6, stakes, awning pole & tyvek footprint - 2 lb 5 oz
  • Jacks R Better High Sierra Sniveler quilt, long 2 lb 5 oz (this may change)
  • Cocoon sleeping bag liner - cool max fabric - 7.6 oz
  • Neo Air, X-LIte, 25 inches wide, cut down in length - 15 oz

Second Row (from right to left):

  • Smart wool mid weight long johns top and bottom (PJ’s) - 12.9 oz
  • toiletries/first aid/emergency stuff - 7.7 oz
  • Jet Boil with a titanium cup inside the pot (no gas) - 14.7 oz
  • antigravity gear pouch cozy -  1.6 oz
  • titanium long handle spoon -  0.5 oz
  • 2 lt platypus bag and hose fitted with quick disconnect - 4.8 oz
  • Sawyer squeeze filter/bag and syringe - 5.5 oz
  • Sea to Summit pillow - 1.9 oz

Third Row (right to left):

  • Trail Dames purple t- shirt (weight is included with the rest of my clothing)
  • Gabel Italian trekking poles 1 lb 4 oz (for the pair)
  • head lamp - 2.7 oz
  • Wrist and ankle braces (Yes I need them) - 5.1 oz
  • iPhone 6  - 5.7 oz
  • iPod Nano -  1.7 oz
  • Suntactics solar panel -  8.3 oz
  • watch/altimiter etc - 2.4 oz
  • point & shoot camera -  5.5 oz
  • camera battery charger - 2.5 oz
  • charging cables/ ear buds - 2.5 oz

Fourth Row (right to left):

  • Sunday Afternoon Hat (I love this hat!!) - 2.6 oz
  • Turtle fur hat  - 2.4 oz
  • 2 pr of gloves - fingerless and possum down -2.1 oz
  • 2 bandanas and 1 buff - 2.6 oz
  • food bag -1.7 oz
  • puffy down jacket  7.2 oz
  • rain jacket, hoodie pack cover and rain wrap -13.3 total

Bottom Row (mostly clothing that will be worn):

  • 3 pair Point 6 socks - 9.8 oz
  • Pants/button down shirt/ sports bra and shoes - 1 lb 12.5 oz (this includes undies and the purple t-shirt)
