  • Requires seam sealing prior to use.
  • Camouflage version only has non-reflective (solid black) webbings and non-reflective tie out cord.
  • Stakes sold separately.

Instructions:

  • Stake out the front and back tips of the tent so that the floor is just slightly taut.
  • Temporarily, stake out both sides of tent floor – the floor should be in a diamond shape.
  • Unzip the mesh door and sit inside on the floor of the tent with the 'ceiling' of the tent on top of your head.
  • Place both hiking poles extended to between 120 cm and 125cm handle first into the tent in front of you.
  • Insert one trekking pole tip into one side of the ridge pole.
  • Holding the ridge pole in one hand, raise it to ceiling, while sliding the handle of the trekking pole into position in the center of the side wall panel of the tent. There is Velcro to secure the ridge pole in place.
  • Slip the second trekking pole tip into the other end of ridge pole and while still holding the ridge pole at the ceiling, slide the second trekking pole handle to its position.
  • Extend both trekking poles to about 130 cm so that the tent body is taut. Make sure the ridge pole is centered in the ceiling and secured in place with velcro.
  • If there is any slack in the sidewalls of the tent, and you can't lengthen the trekking poles, re-stake one tip of the tent in a little closer. (Shorten the distance between the 2 stakes).
  • Take out the two stakes in side corners of tent and use them to now stake out the fly. The fly will come all the way down to the ground. (You may use 2 other stakes and leave the corners staked down.)
  • There should be no pull lines or wrinkles in the floor when properly set up. Adjust the stakes as needed to get a flat surface.
  • In a heavy rain or high humidity, silnylon may have a tendency to stretch and sag a little. This is normal and will return to normal.
  • Extra tie outs on both the tent body and tent fly are provided. These extra tie outs are useful in heavy wind and rain. The tie outs on the tent body (between the window mesh and bathtub floor) should be pulled out only about one inch, so that the bathtub wall is vertical. This will provide extra volume inside the tent at the head and feet.
  • For cross ventilation, the back rain fly can be rolled up about 2/3 of the way, use the elastic cord and toggle to secure it in place.

Seam Sealing:

it is easier to seam seal the tent when it is set up. You must use a silicone based seam sealer such as McNett SilNet seam sealer.

  • 1. Seam seal the fly from the OUTSIDE. Seal the entire ridge line from tip to tip
  • 2. Seam seal the floor patches from the INSIDE of the tent as well as the seam in the floor.
  • 3. Seam seal the edges of the bathtub floor for at least one foot from each end of the tent.
  • 4. It helps to place a few rows of seam sealer along the floor to provide traction.

You can make your own seam sealer as follows
• Clear silicone caulk (Purchased at any hardware store.)
• Mineral Spirits - Commonly used for cleaning paint brushes.
• Small brush to apply the sealer - a small foam brush works well.

Dilute Silicone. In a glass jar, mix one part mineral spirits with one part silicone caulk (1 oz mineral spirits and 1 oz silicone should be
enough.) mix well, mix very well. It can take some time to make it smooth, but just be patient. When mixture is the right consistency, it will
be smooth and milky, and flow smoothly when applied

Good when it's good

On the whole, I like this tent. It serves its purpose and is light weight. However, the head room is super limited especially if the tent isn't set up *just right*. I've used it for over 1,000 miles of backpacking and still have issues getting the perfect pitch. I'm 5'3" and when using my thicker bag, it does touch both ends of the tent - an issue when condensation are building up

Love my outdoor home

This tent has been with me for years now and I can't recommend it enough. I love how easy it is to set up/takedown. Im always the first done with tent set up at camp and even in rain its simple to set up. Use the guidelines appropriately and you have airflow. I'm 5'4" and in my mummy pad I don't touch the sides or edges.

5000 miles

Got this tent at Trail Days, Damascus Va 2017 5000 miles later, still going strong. A zipper issue resolved by lightheart without any problem. Sent me a replacement for the duration. Dry in torrential rain. Setup in less than 3 minutes.

Solo is a homerun!

Love this tent. Light, VERY roomy. Can hold up well in wind, and withstand days of rain.
And it's a head turner n camp!

Fantastic tent!

I looked everywhere for a single person tent that set up with my trekking poles and allowed me room to sit up and put all my gear in it. I bought tent after tent and returned them, until I found the LightHeart Solo. I have had it for about four years now, and it's held up in wind and rain storms in Grand Canyon and southern Utah, kept me warm and dry in the Wind River Mountains in Wyoming, and generally been a fantastic companion on the trail. It is definitely three season - my recent trip to the Wind Rivers was pretty cold and there was a little frost on the inside of the fly in the mornings, but that is to be expected with the design. I'm really happy with this tent for my trips, and I've even sold a few to clients who see how great it is!
